For three weeks, Chris Packham, Kate Humble and Simon King are joined by Martin Hughes-Games to follow daily the real-life fortunes of a cast of unforgettable wildlife characters, with Chris, Kate and Martin reporting live from their base in Norfolk. Simon is on a mission in the wilds of Dorset, one of England's most diverse counties for wildlife and home to all the UK's reptile species, birds of prey such as the peregrine falcon and the hobby, and beneath the waves, cuttlefish and seahorses.

Chris Packham and Kate Humble are in Norfolk with live updates from the Springwatch animal stars - kestrels, plovers, skylarks, swallows, finches, barn owls and more - as their real-life family dramas unfold. Chris also meets one of his wildlife heroes, a man who's given his life to studying a jet fighter of an aerial predator - the sparrowhawk. Simon King gets to grips with Dorset's rich reptilian population, from venomous adders to green lizards.

The Springwatch team report live on all the daily animal dramas as they happen, plus other stories from around the country. Kate Humble has part one of her guide to Britain's birds of prey and there is news of some Wild Days Out that everyone can get involved with. Simon King continues his journey into Dorset's wild side - top of the bill is the nightjar, a nocturnal bird with an appetite for moths.

The marathon live wildlife event continues with up-to-the-minute reports on the animal stars. Simon King introduces the Dartford Warbler - a heathland bird that nests in almost impenetrable gorse bushes. In Norfolk, Chris Packham and Kate Humble are watching over their animal families, Martin Hughes-Games shows how to get involved in bird ringing and there is more news on the Wild Days Out happening across the country this weekend.

The Springwatch team return for week two of the wildlife event of the year, catching up on all the weekend's action. Chris Packham and Kate Humble report from Norfolk on their animal families. Underwater cameraman Hugh Miles introduces us to some of the amazing fish life in our rivers and Simon King is in Dorset on the trail of the legendary 'black fox'.

Chris, Kate and Simon bring us the latest updates from our Springwatch animal stars. Martin Hughes-Games has the best of the wild animal antics that Springwatch viewers have filmed themselves. In Dorset, Simon tunes in to the dawn chorus.

Chris, Kate, Simon and Martin report on all the animal dramas and other stories from around the British Isles. Down in Dorset Simon's in the woods, searching for roe deer young, and in Norfolk the team are continuing their exploration of the local rivers and lakes.

The marathon wildlife event continues with reports on all the animal stars. Have any of Kate and Chris's chicks flown the nest? Simon heads downstream in one of Dorset's finest chalk rivers. Martin is out and about showing us how to get more involved in helping wildlife, and has his hands full with some water voles.

12. Episode 9

Chris Packham, Kate Humble, Martin Hughes-Games and Simon King return for the final week of the wildlife event of the year, with live updates on all of the animal characters. Simon begins his exploration of Dorset's wild coast. Chris and Martin are in a race across London to see who can spot the most birds in a 12 hour 'twitch off'.

Live updates from the Springwatch animal stars - kestrels, swallows, sparrowhawks and many more - as their real-life dramas unfold daily. Simon King is on the trail of the world's fastest bird - the peregrine falcon. Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games continue their urban bird race, turning up more than one or two surprises including a tawny owl in Kensington.

Chris Packham, Kate Humble and Simon King have the latest on the Springwatch animal dramas and report on other stories from around the country as they happen. In Dorset, Simon heads beneath the waves for a live dive, revealing a world of pipefish, corals and triggerfish. In London, time is running out for Chris and Martin Hughes-Games as they continue their quest to see as many of the city's birds as they can in just 12 hours.

The marathon live wildlife event reaches its climax. What will have happened to the UK's favourite animal stars? Simon King says farewell to Dorset and all of its wild inhabitants, and in London it is a race to the finish for Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games in the final part of their marathon bird watch; who will have spotted more birds?
