For this reason, Yavora, whom the children almost idolize, becomes that missing mother they all dream of. Nikola is a withdrawn teenager who is skeptical and condescending towards his parents and their activities. He is devoted entirely to books, communicates with few classmates, and finds support in his friendship with his class teacher Yavora.
