The Beauty of The Game - Season 1

1. Episode 1

YUEN KWOK-FUN and his uncle YAU TAK-KWONG both are the paparazzi of Cha Magazine. They want to take some pictures of the superstar LUI TIN about his illness. Seeing that the rising actor TOM and the leading actress KEUNG CHIN-FUNG are in the same car, FUN and KWONG firmly believe that FUNG wants to cover TOM up for visiting TIN. Then chase after their car closely. KO CHING-MAN accompanies her best friend LEUNG MEI-FUN to the hospital. MAN finds that FUN purposely irritates TOM as to make up some news, and furthermore shooting TIN stealthily. She spoils all his tricks. The cosmetic shopkeeper LING KIT-YUE is doing her hard sell on MAN and eventually makes MAN participate in “The Perfect Women” beauty pageant. CHEUNG LAI-HUNG is a long-retired actress and she has always disagreed with her daughter, MAN for dreaming to be a star. HUNG is terribly upset when seeing some fragments from TV about MAN taking part in the beauty pageant……

2. Episode 2

When MAN gets home, her father KO GAI-YEUNG helps comfort HUNG. MAN and another rising actress TONG HO-YEE gets along well while they are having a screen test for the new drama. As a motion substitute, TO TENG is required by the martial art instructor to keep repeating lots of dangerous actions. FUNG feels sorry for TENG and helps him out. FUNG gets rid of KWONG and FUN when they find her kissing a guy inside the car. HA BING is a leading entertainment reporter; she digs out several photographs of the guys whom all had some love affairs with FUNG before. FUN recognizes TENG since after FUNG had got rid of him; he then bumped into TENG somewhere nearby. BING decides to make up stories about FUNG and TENG patching up. FUNG is not happy to see YEE and MAN playing around while acting. She indicates to the director that he should give them a lesson. In the dressing room, YEE apologizes to FUNG while MAN refuses to compromise……

3. Episode 3

Aired: 12/16/2009

FUN hides the truth from his mother, YAU SAU-FONG for working as a paparazzo. When FONG is angry that YUE is trapped into a scandal, FUN then gets to know that YUE is her makeup teacher. FONG turns up with YUE, FUN and KWONG pretend to have a fight in order to avoid seeing YUE. YEE asks MAN and the production assistant DEACON CHONG to go to a private club that is owned by a popular actor WAN SI-WAI. WAI introduces a well-known director, LAW YAU-WAI to everybody and YAU-WAI indicates that his inspiration comes from marijuana. He passes some marijuana to MAN and tries to take advantage of her. MAN reprimands him in front of everybody and leaves. As to keep WAI away from YEE, DEACON has to drink a whole bottle of red wine and gets very drunk. YEE sends DEACON home and finds that he comes from a rich family. After having a fight with her mother, MAN goes to Cha Magazine to straighten out the matter with them……

4. Episode 4

When FUNG was slapping MAN, a staff of the studio has secretly videotaped the scene. When he shows it to his colleagues, LAM immediately offers a hundred thousand dollars to buy his mobile phone since FUNG is her competitor for the Award of Best Actress. When the incident is uncovered, the press hotly pursues FUNG and asks if she has avenged MAN for the sake of her personal enmities. When LAM reveals to FUNG that she has exposed the matter to the press, FUNG determines to take revenge on LAM. YUE wants to visit FONG and clarify since she meets FUN and KWONG inside a cafe and finds their receding figures look very familiar. YEE is terrified after receiving a phone. So MAN accompanies YEE back home and discovers her secrets. LI CHUEN-HOI is an extra; he brings TENG to visit HUNG. TENG is terribly uneasy to see how much the wounded leg has hurt HUNG. Inside the dressing room, MAN and YEE offend FUNG again……

5. Episode 5

Aired: 12/18/2009

FUNG invites YEE back home for dinner and YEE is convinced. MAN and YEE then turn against each other. ON decides to get KAN PO-YI whom is the opponent of MAN during the beauty pageant to replace MAN. MAN has no choice but to get back to work. TENG sends some medicated oil for HUNG and helps her go shopping at the market. HUNG is in great pain because of her sore foot and TENG knows she may be suffered from cancer. TENG offers to find a specialist for HUNG and asks FUNG to recommend some orthopedic surgeons. FUNG is disgruntled but still agrees to help. HUNG is touched when FUNG shows her concerns towards her and during their meeting a reporter has taken down their pictures. When LAM dates WAI out, FUN and KWONG eavesdrop on their conversation and set up some photographic equipment in advance at their rendezvous. They have successfully taken some photographs about their affair……

6. Episode 6

Aired: 12/21/2009

MAN suggests to bring a prosecution against TENG and FUNG but HUNG has to give up this idea due to no evidence. ON announces that DEACON is promoted to be the director and DEACON wants to have a celebration as to patch up MAN and YEE. YEE sends DEACON home and in the car YEE proactively shows her love to DEACON. WAI asks the businessman NG FONG-GWAI to recommends him some part time jobs and KWAI wants to inject some funds into his private club. TOM and YI are taking drugs inside the club. When WAI wants them to leave, GWAI stops him. MAN’s good friend LI SUET-KEI finds that her brother LI CHI-KIN becomes addicted to the cough medicine and they persuade KEI to abstain from it. FUN coincidently sees MAN pour away the cough medicine and mistaken that MAN is the one who takes it. MAN censures TENG when knowing that he has the intension to run away……

7. Episode 7

Aired: 12/22/2009

Lots of reporters are chasing after MAN about the inside story of how TENG has broken HUNG’s leg. MAN advises TENG to claim that he was incited by FUNG as to appeal for a commutation. LAM KING-YING is the assistant of FUNG; she suddenly turns up and states how HUNG used to corner FUNG in the past. When MAN tries to dig things out from her father, HUNG forbids MAN from asking about her past. FONG helps YUE do her housework and put her kitchen on fire. FUN is not happy when FONG wants him to offer his bedroom to YUE temporarily. YUE purposely teases FUN and makes him stay awake all night. MAN pumps YING and FUNG for more details about the past and gets to know that HUNG was very domineering once. She has played a trick to snatch away the role of Cixi from FUNG. MAN inquires into the cause of the matter, HUNG admits without hesitation that she has taken over the role and confesses that she used to be very selfish……

8. Episode 8

Aired: 12/23/2009

On the day when TENG is brought to trial, HUNG intercedes with the judge on behalf of TENG. FUN follows MAN and takes some pictures about YEE and DEACON holding hands together. MAN asks FUN not to publish those pictures and FUN brings up his terms of exchange. FUN arranges KWONG to take some intimate pictures of him and MAN under some speculative angles. During the first working day when DEACON acts as a director, he finds his father CHONG CHUNG-TAI and FUNG enters into the same apartment separately and immediately informs his mother LAM SIU-LAN. LAN gets there personally and asks TAI to get dressed properly, then lies to DEACON that TAI and FUNG are there to view the apartment for sale. GWAI introduces WAI to LAN; LAN does appreciate when WAI tries to flatter her. FUN is dressed in tuxedo to meet MAN and indicates that he has thought of a way MAN can reward him……

9. Episode 9

Aired: 12/24/2009

LAN invites MAN and YEE to be the advertising endorsers for some fashion brands. WAI suggests to IVAN whom is the boss of LAN to invest in films and he can help to look for the right team. YI wants FUN to help her creating more news. While ready for photographing inside the house, YI swallows some soft drugs and forces FUN to take off his clothes. IVAN decides to make a film and invites MAN and YEE to be the leading actresses. The television producer WONG invites YEE to West Africa for shooting a traveling program. YEE makes an excuse of visiting her parents in Canada and refuses the job. She recommends MAN to WONG as a replacement. MAN is excited when the traveling program has to be cancelled due to a coup in West Africa. DEACON brings YEE home to have dinner with his parents. He hears that YEE has suggested LAN not to employ MAN. MAN does not believe in FUNG when she hints that YEE has betrayed her……

10. Episode 10

Aired: 12/25/2009

At the movie press conference, BING takes out the photographs about the parents of YEE living in a broken village house and questions YEE about it. YEE reprimands MAN angrily for divulging her secret and slaps MAN. YEE is pursued by lots of reporters at the outdoor scene. Meanwhile, her mother turns up with the loan shark and acts like an addicted gambler in front of the reports. Her mother claims that she will disclose more secrets to the magazine for money if YEE refuses to pay off her gambling debts. YEE successfully gains lots of sympathy from everybody. MAN gets excited when the TV station makeup supervisor, CHIU KAI-HUNG suggests FUNG and MAN to become sworn sisters. YEE’s film premiere is on the same day as the celebration to FUNG and MAN who are becoming sworn sisters. MAN discloses to DEACON about all the lies that YEE has made. DEACON is mad and wants to split up with YEE……

11. Episode 11

Aired: 12/28/2009

IVAN is making another movie; YEE and MAN both are the leading actresses. While shooting the promotion of the new film, TOM kisses YEE on purpose. In order to reconcile with DEACON, YEE takes the chance to arouse his jealousy. Yet DEACON is not jealous while assuming that it is just a tactic that YEE plays. When MAN is trying to comfort DEACON, YEE blames MAN for snatching her boyfriend. TAI makes up excuses to avoid seeing FUNG when she calls. When FUNG finds that WAI is going after LAN, she hints some clues for WAI to understand the inner world of LAN. LAN decides to let DEACON direct the movie that IVAN is going to make. YEE is upset to see DEACON gets along so well with MAN. FUNG suggests MAN to move and live with her temporarily. MAN gladly accepts a luxury car as a gift and FUNG has already settled the down payment for it. Yet HUNG feels that FUNG may have other attempts instead……

12. Episode 12

Aired: 12/29/2009

WAI wants to visit DEASON at Tai O together with LAN and travel around the island at the same time. Yet LAN asks TAI to come along. FUNG feels lonely and wants TAI to spend Sunday with her as to celebrate her birthday. DEACON is furious to see MAN and YEE are busy upstaging and orders to stop shooting. YEE is in a bad mood seeing that DEACON and MAN are having fun with each other just lovers. TOM asks YEE to chase away her miseries by taking drugs. When the drugs start functioning, YEE and TOM had a sexual relation. DEACON and MAN happen to see TOM when he leaves the room. FUNG arranges YING and all her servants to have a day off and TAI also finds an excuse not to visit DEACON at work. FUN is depressed to see that MAN and DEACON are likely to become a pair. YING brings home some mooncakes for FUNG and discovers the disgraceful relationship between FUNG and TAI. FUN goes to Tai O and wants to make trouble for DEACON……

13. Episode 13

Aired: 12/30/2009

YEE leaves in tears when she fails to reconcile with DEACON. While DEACON wants to chase YEE, MAN appears. DEACON accidentally finds a tattoo with his name on MAN’s body. When DEACON meets MAN, YEE suddenly turns up and tries to clear away her fake tattoo just to prove that MAN is only playing a trick but it turns out to be a real tattoo. DEACON is touched and shows MAN his love. HUNG learns from HOI that DEACON and YEE had once developed a secret affair. She knows that MAN wants to be with DEACON only for the sake of fighting with YEE. Making use of the press, YEE creates false news about her being poached by another rival. Although her trick has been debunked by ON, the manager of the artistes’ department still agrees to readjust the conditions of her renewal. Yet YEE drags her feet in signing the contract……

14. Episode 14

Aired: 12/31/2009

YUE finds out that MAN is using FUN to follow YEE and agrees to let him be her standby boyfriend. ON gets the indication from MAN and invites HUNG to make a comeback for promoting their new drama. ON puts the process of persuading HUNG on TV live but HUNG refuses him in public. HUNG blames MAN and indicates that she knows MAN is using FUN to go against YEE. MAN puts the blame on YUE and splits up with her. YING takes the pills from FUNG for a laboratory test and finds that they are all drugs. YEE is purposely late for the premiere of “Obsessed With Tai O”. MAN is annoyed to find that YEE is making use of the chance to promote her “Empress Dowager and Royal Concubine Zhen” instead. MAN sets the topic of talking about how to beat YEE. It makes DEACON feel that he is being used and they part on bad terms. FUNG chases away YING when YING dissuades her from taking drugs……

15. Episode 15

Aired: 1/1/2010

MAN asks FUNG to take drugs together as to reduce some pressure; FUNG finds it hard to refuse and has to do so. In fact MAN knows that FUNG is trying to tackle her, so she is waiting for the right chance to take her revenge. Eavesdropping on the conversation between FUNG and a married man, MAN inquires YING about it. MAN and DEACON patch up and DEACON invites her to celebrate TAI’s birthday. MAN finds that the birthday of TAI happens to be the same with FUNG’s paramour and she asks FUN to follow FUNG. FUNG incites WAI to date LAN out and brings TAI to the rendezvous. TAI is surprised to see LAN and WAI are kissing. When he beats WAI up, the whole process is taken down by FUN. Her parents find MAN stay at home watching the fragments that was surreptitiously taken. Since MAN refuses to delete those fragments, HUNG informs FUNG about it. FUN passes the CD-ROM and the memory card about the fragments to Editor IP……

16. Episode 16

Aired: 1/4/2010

Lots of reports break into the studio and question about the scandal between FUNG and TAI. MAN maliciously taunts FUNG when the TV station decides to significantly strike off all the scenes that FUNG has taken part. LAN knows that it is a strategy set by FUNG for WAI to approach her. When LAN meets FUNG and WAI, FUNG straightly asks LAN to give way to her as Mrs. Chong instead. FUNG lets DEACON listen to the recording about MAN admitted that she had exposed the extramarital affairs of his parents to the press. DEACON is furious and turns hostile towards MAN. FUN shows his love to MAN again but MAN is finding excuses to drag him. Finally FUN understands that so far he is just being used by MAN. FUN is crazily eating lots of egg tarts to vent his frustrations inside a cafe. YUE cannot put him at ease and finally reveals that she loves FUN. During the TV station press conference, YEE is incontinent and faints on the spot……

17. Episode 17

Aired: 1/5/2010

FUNG finds that her eyes are obviously sagging. While washing her face, her nose is slanted by knocking. YEE is touched to find TOM still shows his concern towards her after the incident. But TOM declares that he would not give up his career because of YEE. MAN introduces a new actress GIGI to TAI. DEACON is not happy to see the bad working attitude of MAN and MAN states publicly to the press that she has split up with DEACON. FUNG starts questioning TAI when a magazine has used the meeting of TAI and GIGI to be the cover. Seeing that TAI and GIGI become very intimate, FUNG tries to hit GIGI but gets a slap from TAI instead. During the fight, FUNG hurts her leg. HUNG and YEUNG want to meet DEACON but MAN returns home with an arrogant manner. YEUNG cannot tolerate and chases MAN away after giving her a slap. MAN complains to YUE in tears……

DEACON proposes to the company to make a serial about the harmfulness of taking drugs. FUN overhears that GWAI and MRS. CHIU are going to hold a mysterious drug party. Under the topic of anti-drug, a serial named “Female Protege” is ready for shooting. DEACON and MAN are taking some location shooting at a drug rehabilitation centre. GIGI is chased away by DEACON due to her bad working attitude and YEE requests to be the replacement. FUN is caught when he joins the drug party in disguise. In the meanwhile the police get there to arrest TOM and the rest of the people with evidence. KIM is the Manager of the Sakura Group that sells branded cosmetics. He accepts bribes from FUNG and makes her become the endorser of the Asia region in order to gain back her regard from the TV station. The group also sponsors FUNG to shoot a new serial named “Sakura Dream”……

20. Episode 20

Aired: 1/8/2010

FUN and YUE get married and while snatching the wedding bouquet YEE hurts her hand. DEACON helps to take care of her wound and MAN encourages DEACON to patch up with YEE. GIGI gets to know a rich guy ANSON on the street. TAI wrangles with ANSON as to fight for GIGI. FUNG is excited knowing that “Female Protege” has gained the highest watching index on Internet. During the award, TAI is at the TV station looking for a job but is being turned down. FUNG pours ridicule on TAI and he reveals to FUNG that he heard from the management level MAN would be the winner of the Award of Best Actress. FUNG is acting strange at studio and starts screaming when she imagines the way MAN gets her award on stage. When MAN is leaving the studio, FUNG coerces MAN with a knife to the roof. FUNG indicates that she rather die together with MAN than letting her win the Award of Best Actress……
