Pedro Jorge is arrested. Mariel attacks Jandira when she receives provocations from the maid. Jandira takes revenge on Mariel. Carla shakes Susana by getting engaged to Victor. Carla meets Mariel.

Mariel is delighted to discover an evangelical church and begins to explore the faithful. Carla suffers from Mariel's disappearance. Pedro Jorge makes a deal with Irene.

Jovildo shoots Mariel when he hears slander from the pastor during worship. Carla is worried about Mariel. Tavares declares himself to Vilma. Mariana organizes a trap for Jovildo.

Mariel gets Tavares' confession about the affair outside of marriage. Jovildo is captured by Mariel's henchmen. Carla spends the night with Mariel and writes a letter to Victor.

Jandira humiliates Mariana. Celeste receives Tavares' confession and leaves her husband agonizing for his life. Mariel supports Carla after Tavares' death. Mariana hands over Mariel.
