1. The Betty Hawley Story

After graduation from college, John Hawley (Richard Jaeckel) takes a job in Mexico for a mining company. John's wife Betty (Lisa Daniels) is pregnant and desperate to have their child in a hospital and in America. Hence, John agrees to accept $1,000 to drive over rutted dirt roads in an old rickety truck loaded with nitroglycerin to a mine cave-in many miles off.

Grocer Norman Conover starts a chain of stores with his million which draws a visit from his first wife, who has formerly agreed to stay away.

3. The Fred Morgan Story

Before they use the money for corrective surgery, Rita Morgan implores her husband to take her to place she was crippled in her husband's boating accident where they are intercepted by an run away convict but Fred devises an escape.

4. The Ken Leighton Story

Earnest, but gullible Ken Leighton is barely making it just to pay bills but is always is falling for his co-worker's grand money gambling schemes. His marriage is taking a strain now because he has no money to pay the bills.

Struggling young writer David Barrett takes a laborer job on a farm owned by a tough old Scotsman. He's told to stay away from the main house, but circumstances bring him there and he meets the owner's daughter. They fall in love, but when the Farmer finds out, he fights him and orders him away until he can provide for the girl.

So he's given an earnest talk about money, and why he can't use any in a college fund his parents save for him,yet unbeknownst to everyone else, Scott has gotten himself in debt to a bookie and must nearly drain the account.

Soon after an old spinster lady becomes a "Tipton-made Millionaire", she dies, leaving her estate to her cat, Ralph. The old woman's nephew Freddie Howard is to take care of the feline at a fabulous annual stipend allotted. Freddie's fiancée dislikes Ralph though, who suddenly runs away. Without him, the rest of the inheritance will go to a cat hospital.

Anthony's meeting with detective Dan Howell on a train on which Howell is returning an escaped convict who wishes revenge on Howell gives the convict an opportunity to free himself and run loose on the train.

Meek clerk Newman Johnson who deals with an intrusive sister-in-law, a critical wife, a conniving coworker and a dismissive and grumpy employer gains confidence with his million and turns the tables as he buys his company.
