SanTaku - Season 1

1. Pilot

Aired: 1/3/2003

Kimura's chosen activity is surfing while Sanma chooses to go on a club tour around Roppongi. The two compete in a game of count up darts, followed by nine ball billiards. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Amida Babaa no Uta.

2. SanTaku 2004

Aired: 1/1/2004

Sanma's chosen activity is canoeing in river rapids, where they also compete to catch fish for dinner. They also compete in a game of badminton. The show wraps up with the two performing a rap they practiced because of Sanma's admiration for Eminem.

3. SanTaku 2005

Aired: 1/1/2005

Kimura's chosen activity is skydiving while Sanma chooses to give Kimura Oogiri comedy training. After, they have a winter test of courage. The two compete in shooting. The show wraps up with Sanma and Kimura's music video of their impressions of Beyonce.

4. SanTaku 2006

Aired: 1/3/2006

Sanma's chosen activity is to catch a weird animal--the flying squid--while Kimura takes the opportunity to try and catch a big tuna. Meanwhile, Kimura chooses to find a serious girlfriend for Sanma. The two compete in a basketball free throw challenge, followed by an American football field goal challenge. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Lum's Love Song.

5. SanTaku 2007

Aired: 1/3/2007

This year's SanTaku is "The Longest Day of SanTaku" where they do all their activities in a single day. The various activities include rock climbing; the Game of Life, SanTaku Version; horse riding; observing flying squirrels; cooking dinner for each other; and finding a real girlfriend for Sanma, part 2. The show wraps up with Sanma fulfilling his dream of taking a bath in an oil barrel while Kimura sings Sanma's requested song: "Kissin'SanTaku" (original song: Kissin' Christmas).

6. SanTaku 2008

Aired: 1/3/2008

Sanma's chosen activity is to perform Japanese Buyo, a traditional dance, instead of having Kimura sing a song. He also wants to "scold Japan" for electing comedian Higashikokubaru as governor of Miyazaki prefecture, which leads to them doing various activities in Miyazaki such as surfing. Meanwhile, Kimura wants Sanma to dye his hair brown for the first time in his life, and also directs a romantic drama starring Sanma and the model Aizawa Sayo. The two compete in sumo and kendo. The show wraps up with Sanma and Kimura's dance performance.

7. SanTaku 2009

Aired: 1/3/2009

Sanma's chosen activity is to try and beat Kitajima Yousuke's world breast stroke record, while Kimura wants to retry the Taku-chan Man vs Black Devil Dharma Drop they failed during that year's FNS 27 Hour TV. The two compete in 8 holes of golf, and also swim a race against each other. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Egao no Manma.

8. SanTaku 2010

Aired: 1/3/2010

Kimura's chosen activity is riding in a fighter jet with the Blue Impulse while Sanma chooses to play tennis against professional Sugiyama Ai. They also have the Memorial for Sanma Giving up Hope for Getting Married SP, which involves 3 gravure idols fulfilling Sanma's requests. The two compete in the Ushiwakamaru Sports Test with box vaulting. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Mainichi ga Brand New Day.

9. SanTaku 2011

Aired: 1/3/2011

The theme of this year's SanTaku is adventure. Sanma and Kimura go to Okinawa and see a snake show before going treasure hunting in a cave. They compete in a Sogeking Battle, where they use slingshots to hit targets and win One Piece figures. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Love Lives.

10. SanTaku 2012

Aired: 1/1/2012

Due to the 2011 Touhoku earthquake and tsunami, this year's SanTaku's theme is "Comeback". Sanma and Kimura discuss various celebrities that have overcome difficulties and staged a comeback, and talk to two of them: Krumm-Date Kimiko and Steven Tyler. They play baseball against the kid's team Kamaishi Dream Eastern. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Egao no Manma.

11. SanTaku 2013

Aired: 1/1/2013

The theme of this year's SanTaku is "Men and Women". Various female talents discuss their frustrations about men with Sanma and Kimura. Sanma also chooses for the two to try waterfall training. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Anta.

12. SanTaku 2014

Aired: 1/1/2014

The theme of this year's SanTaku is "The One" in honor of Japan hosting the 2020 Olympics. Sanma and Kimura compete in golf (via simulator), wrestling, and archery against future gold medalists: elementary and middle school aged athletes. Sanma also wants to create a song based off a jingle he sang repeatedly during his most recent appearance on SMAPxSMAP. The show wraps up with Kimura and Sanma performing the finished product: Tomato Juice Da Yo~n.

13. SanTaku 2015

Aired: 1/1/2015

Kimura's chosen activity is making Sanma sing on stage with him during SMAP's Mr. S concert, while Sanma chooses to draw and play around with LEDs. The two also have their genes tested to check their learning ability, physical ability, and sensitivity, followed by going shopping at a second hand clothes store. The show wraps up with Kimura singing his Mr. S solo: One Chance.

14. SanTaku 2016

Aired: 1/1/2016

Kimura's chosen activity is trying out real swords while Sanma chooses to have Kimura perform a comedy skit on stage with him. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Kanashii Iro Ya Ne.

15. SanTaku 2017

Aired: 4/10/2017

This year's SanTaku was filmed and aired in the spring instead of on New Year's due to SMAP's disbandment. Sanma decides that he wants Kimura to start from the beginning and has him be his assistant for a full day. Later, the two visit places used in famous scenes from their respective breakout dramas "Seven Men and Women, Summer Story" and "Long Vacation". The show wraps up with Kimura singing the theme songs from said dramas: SHOW ME and LA ・LA ・LA LOVE SONG.

16. SanTaku 2018

Aired: 1/1/2018

Sanma's chosen activity is to make a cameo appearance in the movie that Kimura is filming, Masquerade Hotel. Later, they also create an Instagram account for Sanma. Instead of competing in a sport as usual, they go to a gym for CrossFit training, and go shopping afterward. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Torisetsu.

17. SanTaku 2019

Aired: 1/1/2019

This year, all the activities are Sanma's "selfish" requests. These requests include things like riding both a motorcycle and a boat driven by Kimura, visiting Chinatown in Yokohama, going to Hakkejima Sea Paradise, and fishing for Yellowtail to make the dish Buri Daikon. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: Kimi to Itsumade mo.

18. SanTaku 2020

Aired: 1/1/2020

Sanma's chosen activity is to go underwater, since they've done things in the air, on land, underground, and above water in the past. This includes scuba diving, trying out a SEA BOB, and harpoon fishing. Meanwhile, Kimura chooses activities via dice. They end up working part time at an izakaya, and trying to get big laughs at a school. The show wraps up with Kimura singing Sanma's requested song: A Piece Of My Life from Kimura's Go With The Flow album.
