TSE is the big big boss in both the upper circles and the underworld of Shanghai during its 30's. Today, he is holding a large birthday party for his grandson CHUN. While everybody is enjoying himself, there comes the bad news that CHUN has just been hit down by a car and is now unconscious. They rush him to the hospital but he soon dies. The driver, BOND, is the adopted son of TSE's best friend.
TSE feels that it is an ill omen.
