FONG CHING is a C.I.D. who takes no interest in protecting justice. He regards being a policeman a way to earn income. Therefore he always entangles those drug addicts. It is because they usually have conducted crimes in the past. This gives him more chances to solve cases. CHING comes across a drug addict CHAU YAT SING who later becomes his spy. However SING is not loyal to him and always tricks CHING. As SING takes drugs, he becomes so poor that he forces his daughter CHAU LING to be a prostitute. After she has received money Tram her customers, she runs away. LING is discontented with SING's behaviour. One day, LING plays the trick again but this time she cannot run away. Luckily CHING comes to the hostel Tor investigation and LING is saved. LING is impressed by CHING. CHING has a wife LAU YUEN YI however love between them fades out as YI cares nothing about current affairs and it is hard for them to communicate.… ...

2. Episode 2

One day, SING tells CHING that there is a drug trade in a warehouse. He goes there and finds that a famous rich man is bribing a witness. As the rich man is afraid that his dirty trick in commerce will be disclosed, he sends subordinates to lurk CHING and blames CHING having killed a drug addict. SING arrives and is shocked by the scene. Driven by greed, SING takes the huge sum OT money and a valuable lighter away. WAI arrives and sends CHING to hospital. YI is shocked by the news and does not know what to do. She nearly miscarries her baby but luckily the baby is saved with her neighbour TO YUEN's help. As CHING becomes unconscious, he is regarded as the killer and involved in drug trade. WAI is also suspected and is questioned by the police. To prove that CHING is innocent, WAI carries out investigation. HUI MEI is the doctor treating CHING.… ...

Although CHING has not waken up, MEI finds that he has strong will power and she is interested in him. MEI's boyfriend WONG CHUNG LEUNG is loyal to MEI and is her colleague. When he finds MEI spending so much time on CHING, he is discontented. As PONG wins the case and he asks HENRY to leave Hong Kong. He further feels relieved as MEI tells him that CHING will not wake up so quick. With all means, MEI, LING and YI try to wake CHING up but in vain. YI is very depressed and luckily TO is with her. She hopes that CHING will wake up when she gives birth to their baby. LING takes care of CHING and seeds of love germinate in her heart. However she dares not to disclose her feeling as he has got married.

LING takes care of CHING and seeds of love germinate in her heart. However she dares not to disclose her feeling as he has got married. The drug addict being arrested by CHING before always comes to entangle YI and fortunately TO helps her to overcome the situation. They become lovers. YIM FONG observes that TO admires YI and gives him to courage to express his love in front of her. However TO dares not to admit. SING blackmails PONG with the lighter but he is beaten up by his subordinates. He worries much and decides to leave Hong Kong. SING wants to say goodbye to LING but he is discovered by PONG's men. Therefore he has to escape. LING returns home, finding everything in a mess. Moreover she cannot find her father, so she turns to WAI for help. WAI tries to protect her.

YIM FONG likes being an actress much and she always goes to the studio to act as a part-time actress. She always goes home in costume and is always being laughed at. WAI is attracted by LING who is so innocent and naive. Therefore he tries to flatter her. However LING regards him as her elder brother. MEI meets another doctor who suggests a new method to cure CHING. However CHUN LEUNG thinks that it is too risky and may spoil the fame of the hospital, so he opposes to it. After a long argument, he is at last convinced by MEI and YI also agrees to have CHING being treated by the new method.

6. Episode 6

Aired: 9/16/1993

CHING's condition worsens after the treatment and MEI tries her best to save his life. YI and LING also arrive and they worry much. Later MEI is reminded by the doctor that CHING is having reaction to the medicine and they are relieved. As LING rushes to the hospital, she drives carelessly and in +act she does not have a license. WAI scolds her +or her sake and she is touched by his keen concern of her. CHUN LEUNG is jealous as MEI spends so much time on CHING. He uses his authority to stop the treatment programme . MEI is angry and quarrels with him. YI is going to give birth to a baby. YUEN and YIM FONG send her to hospital. As YUEN is so nervous, he is regarded as YI's husband by the nurse. They are excited to know that YI gives birth to a boy. YI is on the brink of mental collapse after giving birth to the child. Moreover she worries too much about CHING.… ...

Aired: 9/17/1993

YUEN fancies that he is the father of YI's son and this embarrasses YI. WAI reminds YUEN that he has taken too Tar a step and YUEN cools down. CHUN LEUNG opposes that MEI still spends most OT her time on CHING after he has waken up. They quarrel and MEI decides to quit. WAI wants to prove that CHING is innocent. He tells CHING what had happened to him before he Tainted. However CHING's memory is too unclear and fragmented. He suffers much. When CHING is to be transferred to another hospital, he meets PONG and suddenly all his memory strikes back and he grasps PONG, telling that PONG is a killer. All the others are surprised. Although PONG is being accused, he shirks everything by pointing out that CHING has mental disorder. CHING tells MEI what has happened but MEI only thinks that his condition goes worse again.… ...

8. Episode 8

Aired: 9/20/1993

CHING always expresses his anger in front of YI as they have not seen each other for a long time. Moreover he is being falsely accused. YI tolerates it but a gap is widening between them. As SING's identity is disclosed though he takes refuge, he has to return home. As CHING is to be sent to court, he begs SING to be a witness to accuse PONG. However SING has been threatened by PONG, so he refuses. CHING is being accused and is proved guilty. Although he is not out behind bars, he is on bail and dismissed by the police force. CHING is discontented and determines to prove that he is not guilty. He carries out investigation with WAI. CHING finds out that MEI is PONG's sister. As ~EI has not told him this, he is angry and refuses to be treated by her. Although MEI tries to explain, CHING simply turns away from her.

SING is bribed by PONG and LING is discontented that SING betrays justice for money. They quarrel and LING runs away. As YI knows that CHING has not recovered completely, she goes out to work, leaving CHING to take care of their son. Moreover she refuses to help YUEN helping her as she does not want to have any scandal. CHING knows that he has been proved guilty and he also hears from the neighbours that there is a filthy relationship between YUEN and YI. He feels inferior.

CHING knows that he has been proved guilty and he also hears from the After careful consideration, CHING knows that he has not take the duty of being a good husband and father. Thus he decides to retreat from the entanglement and he tries to bridge YI and YUEN. YI cannot take CHING’s advice but after her friend MABEL’s persuasion, at last she agrees to divorce. As CHUN LEUNG thinks that MEI abandons all her achievement for CHING, he feels jealous and tries to spoil their relationship. LING is depressed as she is disappointed to know that CHING does not love her even YI has left him. CHING loses his job and has to work in a construction site as a manual labour. One day, he and some other workers are sent down a deep well where an explosion occurs.

As he is weak, he is unable to save his partner CHAT. He is depressed as he finds himself much weaker than before. CHING is required to stay in hospital and LING goes to visit him. WAI is jealous as he sees LING so intimate with CHING. MEI is very busy after the opening of her clinic. One day her nurse gives some wrong medicine to an old lady. After swallowing it, she faints and MEI is sued by her relatives. CHING talks with MEI and they can share the feeling of being wrongly accused. Love starts to germinate in their hearts , CHUN LEUNG thinks that he can win over MEI's heart as CHING has recovered. However, MEI refuses to migrate to Canada with him and he is disappointed. CHING finds a job with MEI’s help. He works as a sale representative in a paging company.… ...

One day when LING is on patrol with her colleagues, they arrest SING and some other drug addicts. In the police station, LING feels humiliated as the others know that SING is her father. She argues with SING. WAI does not want LING to fool herself. He reminds her that even CHING leaves his wife, MEI is still there. LING is shocked and indulges herself in alcohol. WAI and LING meet a robbery in the street and WAI is hurt as he wants to prot.ect. LING. He loses his conscious and discloses his love to her. LING is impressed and promises to marry him without careful consideration. WAI recovers and arranges their marriage. However he decides to adjourns it as he knows that LING does not love him. LING's friend convinces LING to accept WAI and at last she realizes that WAI is the suitable choice.… ...

13. Episode 13

WAI is very happy as he has married LING and at the same time he has the chance to be promoted as an inspector. For his career, WAI devotes most of his time to work and LING is discontented. They have some arguments. WAI arrests a drug addict PING TAK. SING wants WAI to release PING TAK but WAI refuses to do so for private reasons. LING always respects PING TAK. She thinks that WAI arrests him only to show his talent. As PING TAK kills himself, LING thinks that WAI should be responsible of this. They argue again. SING know that he has liver cancer. He takes refuge away from LING but LING still tries to find him. LING meets CHING and she wants to how CHING's feeling towards her. She is disappointed. as CHING regards her as his sister only. As CHING's performance is good, he is invited to be a share holder of the company. He is excited.

LING cannot find SING and WAI sends subordinates to help her. At last they find SING in the street. SING refuses to go home as he does not want to increase LING and WAI's burden. LING regrets having treat him so bad. CHING tries to calm LING down and WAI thinks that they have filthy relationship. LING is discontented and feels humiliated. She runs away from home. In the street LING comes across SING and begs him to go home. At last they have mutual understanding and WAI also understands what has happened. They go home and SING is sent to hospital for medical check up. CHING wins the fame for his success in career. He is given an award for it. In the ceremony, PONG is the guest to present the award to CHING but CHING refuses. He even accuses PONG as a killer in the public. Everyone is shocked. PONG wants to bait CHING with money but CHING refuses. PONG also loses the chance to receive honorable award.… ...

15. Episode 15

Aired: 9/29/1993

SING's health condition worsens day after day. He feels guilty as he has not helped CHING. Thus he decides to leave the hospital to accuse PONG. SING blackmails PONG but, in fact he wants to gather evidence to prove him guilty. PONG sends KUNG to kill SING. In the fight KUNG's right eye is hurt but SING is also on the brink of death. SING is sent to hospital and before he dies he tells why he betrayed CHING and draws appearance of KUNG. After that he dies and LING is sad. KUNG has no way to go thus he threatens PONG to give him money. To keep the secret PONG tries to kill him but in return PONG is hurt and KUNG escapes. MEI hears PONG argue with CHUNG. When she recognize KUNG, she questions PONG and PONG admits everything. MEI is depressed. MEI in a dilemma as on the one hand CHING and.… ...

16. Episode 16

Aired: 9/30/1993

As CHING finds that he is working in a company owned by PONG, he decides to quit. He goes to argue with PONG and they have a fight. PONG is hurt, by CHING. For revenge, PONG decides to sue CHING. MEI begs PONG for CHING, claiming that she is bearing a baby for CHING. As PONG does not want his sister to suffer, he promises to let CHING go. CHING determines to work against PONG though MEI is PONG's sister. On the other hand he realizes that he should marry MEI. CHING hears that the company loses a lot in its business and thus those shareholders are unable to receive dividends. CHING suspects it and questions MAK UNCLE. He is told that UNCLE MAK works with PONG as he needs money to go to Canada. CHING is angry and decides to disclose it in the annual meeting. MAK UNCLE is afraid that he will be caught. He tries to escape but at last, he is arrested.… ...

17. Episode 17

Aired: 10/1/1993

CHING at last is touched by MEI's good intension and takes care of her. They love each other sincerely. WAI goes to Brazil but he cannot find HENRY as HENRY has returned to Hong Kong for his father's death. Thus he returns and discusses with CHING and LING. CHING wants to go to the mainland China to find KUNG to be the witness. He does not want MEI to know but at last MEI discovers it. MEI is not angry but she shows support to him. WAI and LING want HENRY to help them but PONG has sent people to catch him. As KL'NG has been sentenced to death, he promises to help CHING as CHING is willing to help him to escape. When PONG sends people to escort HENRY, WAI and LING follow them secretly. They are discovered and LING is shot .and is killed. WAI is so sad that he decides to take revenge. On their wav to Hong Kong, KUNG changes his mind and wants to leave along. Accidentally he falls down a cliff and CHING saves him.… ...

18. Episode 18

Aired: 10/4/1993

PONG sends killer to kill HENRY and luckily WAI saves HENRY. At last HENRY promises to be a witness. PONG finds himself in dangerous situation, so he requests MEI to persuade CHING to leave him alone. However MEI requests him to surrender in front of the police. He is disappointed. PONG tries to escape but at last he is arrested. PONG's lawyer is able to pinpoint the weak points of every piece of evidence but MEI hands in more evidence and at last PONG is proved guilty and sentenced to capital punishment and KUNG is also put behind bars. MEI is happy as CHING is proved innocent but she is sad as her brother has been sent to jail.

19. Episode 19

Aired: 10/5/1993

PONG meets KUNG in the prison. They hate each other and at last PONG traps KUNG and kill s him. No one suspects PONG as the killer. PONG's behaviour in the prison is very good as he wants to be set free early. However he has blood cancer and he feels hopeless. After years' struggle, CHING is successful in his career. PONG gives up all hopes and MEI is sad to see this. She feels guilty and applies to the government to have PONG be released. PONG is not touched by MEI's kind act. He just want to take revenge. He pretends to be good in front of the others and in fact he waits for a suitable chance. One day he has a chance but CHING is not trapped. However, YUEN is involved and this breaks up YUEN's family , CHING and MEI are sad to see this. YUEN loses his mind and wants to go and kill PONG. In the street he comes across the police and is killed. He is not contented.

20. Episode 20

Aired: 10/6/1993

When CHING an the police arrive. PONG has left. WAI sends people to look for him. CHING attends an exhibition of telecommunication run by his company. PONG comes to destroy everything with a machine gun and runs away. As PONG wants CHING to suffer more, he kidnaps CHING’s son. He orders CHING to give him his fortune so that CHING will become poor again. When they are fighting. WAI arrives and helps CHING. PONG shoots WAI. CHINF’s anger has arrived at its climax and MEI is hit and faints.
