KIM is come from a poverty family in Malaysia. In running out from poverty and improve the standard of living, she accepts a blind marriage and marries to Hong Kong. Her fiance, WAN is fortune-teller, whose age is over thirty and longing to get marry desperately. KIM sets off from Malaysia and meets MAN on the plane. MAN is an investment consultant in Hong Kong, who sits next to KIM during the flight journey. Hence, KIM inquires MAN on the matters in Hong Kong throughout the trip. MAN feels irritated and asks his flight attendant girlfriend, JOJO to add sleeping pills into the drinks of KIM in order to make her silent. WAN and his sister, RAINBOW LO, miss the chance to welcome KIM at the airport because someone has mislead KIM to Central. Whilst, KIM accidentally knocks out MAN and faints him; nevertheless, KIM also loses all the pocket money……

Because of the bad smell, TIN asks YUK whether she has eaten the preserved bean curd. YUK denies innocently and amuses by KIM. YUK is Embarrass and angry, of course. ZHEN CHUNG and ZHEN BON are the sons of TIN but both of them are prodigal. They and BON’s wife, SHIN YI tend to steal a famous painting from TIN and trade it for money. Although their old servant, GOU FA discovers their plan, she always protects and gives lenience on them. KIM is moved by the tender care and love of WAN; hence, she decides to marry him. WAN takes KIM to a banquet organised by TIN and announces their marriage. Since QUN is the performer of the banquet, KIM helps him for the trial run. Therefore, YUK misunderstands that they have indecent relationship and tells WAN. KIM is anger for the abuse by YUK The partner of QUN, HO GIGI is attached to BON upon their first met……

MAN tells JOJO about his sickness, whilst JOJO looks like she’s on something. Recapitulate by WAN, TIN is advised not to travel recently. However, TIN neglects his words and sets off a trip to Beijing with YUK. Meanwhile, CHUNG and BON make use of this opportunity and sell out all the soybean stock at the condiment shop of ‘May Chun Sin’. When TIN hears about the news, he rushes back to Hong Kong for counter measure; yet, CHUNG and BON are gone already. In the business world, there is no mercy. TIN fails to borrow soybean from his competitors because most of them turn away from TIN and refuses to offer assistance. TIN loses all his friends in such a cramped situation except WAN. WAN makes calls to shows his concern on TIN; nevertheless, he visits TIN on the early morning before his wedding ceremony with KIM. YUK appreciates for his care and help. The wedding ceremony is about to start, WAN finally arrives……

Although KIM escapes from the investigation of Immigration Department, she is forced to leave the condiment shop by supervisor, FOOK. In the midnight, CHUNG and BON sneak into condiment shop for conspiracy. They send out anonymous e-mail to the press and calumniate the soybean sauce of ‘May Chun Sin’ is polluted. Referring to the accusation, TIN wants to wipe off the gossip, hence, opens door to the press. Unfortunately, this is a costly move because he has no idea about conspiracy of his sons. In the condiment shop, the press finds a dog is dead after eating the soybean chicken; moreover, the soybean tank has been polluted also. Meanwhile, KIM passes by and catches the sight of YUK. Without doubts, YUK believes that KIM is bribed by CHUNG and BON to poison the soybean sauce. Though KIM denies, she is hardly to prove her innocent. She runs away with anger and crashes with TIN. TIN falls and is send to the hospital……

5. Episode 5

According to doctor diagnose, MAN has to suffer a longer period of blindness. Hence, JOJO decides to abandon him. MAN is upset for the break up. On the other hand, TIN loses trust on his sons and intends to change the testament with lawyer. TIN returns home for recovery, CHUNG and BON take chance to apologise their behaviour. In fact, they want to stimulate TIN and make his illness goes worse. Their meticulous is succeed, TIN is too angry and faints. The breaking up of relationship between MAN and JOJO seems to cost more than heartbreak but all the valuable things in the apartment of MAN. JOJO takes away everything except a lighter. But it is the most valuable thing that MAN treasures. Meanwhile, KIM feels pity on MAN for lacking care; hence, she stays behind and takes care of MAN voluntarily. MAN appreciates. Suddenly, it is discovered that WAN had owed the bank three hundred thousand dollars……

Because of the illness, the emotion of MAN becomes very unstable. Luckily, with the companion of KIM, he has the support and concern from her. TIN becomes paralysis and is send to the convalescent hospital. Yet, CHUNG and BON see the opportunity to take over the condiment shop and intend to sell it out. Meanwhile, YUK presents the evidence that she inherits all the assets from TIN by law. Everyone is amazed by her announcement. YUK implements a lot of family regulations, whilst CHUNG and others treat it with contempt. One night, they come home late, YUK orders the servant to forbidden them to enter the house. When YUK still wants to tame her sons, TIN realises their sons are hard to rectify. However, he has difficulties in expressing his thoughts and on the contrary, YUK misunderstands him. KIM breaks down MAN’s computer carelessly. They speak out all the discontents and separate after the quarrel……

MAN loses his goal in life because of his illness. KIM pacifies him with care and encouragement. MAN makes fun about his own illness; he says it is hardly to be cured as if it is impossible to learn English in three days. Interestingly, KIM is inspired and starts to learn English afterwards. When MAN discovers KIM is trying so hard to learn English in order to encourage himself, he is touched and decides to learn the blind reading. MAN invites KIM to eat shark fin, whilst KIM notices that MAN has regain his faith and is released. The gathering of MAN and KIM draws the attention of YUK, who is having meal in the restaurant at the same time. Based of her skin-deep perspective, she simply concludes that they are having an affair and believes KIM is an immoral woman. When KIM excuses for lavatory, YUK desecrates KIM and speaks against her in front of MAN. However, KIM returns and hears everything……

8. Episode 8

TIN suffers a stroke again. The matter comes to light when BON carelessly discloses that he and CHUNG have had visited TIN beforehand. Hence, YUK assures that the influencing of her sons is damage to the health condition of TIN. So, she accommodates TIN to a safe place for recovery and prevents him from disturbing. But CHUNG and BON do not give up and question FA for details; FA turns down their enquiry and refuses to give them any information. The care of KIM is dedicated; she helps MAN to clean up the graveyard of his parents voluntarily. Surprisingly, RAINBOW is eager to help this time. The next day, the cleaning of graveyard is completed. When they finish the worship, MAN slips and falls by stepping on litters that RAINBOW throws on the ground. Unexpectedly, his blindness recovers after the slip. RAINBOW has fallen in love with MAN and she is trying to attract his attention. However, MAN has no passion on RAINBOW……

9. Episode 9

KIM works as a part-time in a supermarket to earn her living. However, SANG is still trying to bring her disorder thus ruins her job. Later, GIGI introduces KIM to work for YI at the slim fit & beauty centre. And, YI is satisfied with the performance and hardworking of KIM. On the other hand, CHUNG and others intend to stimulate the illness of TIN again. But this time, their plan does not work out smoothly and YUK tapes their behaviour down deliberately. The eyes of BON are puff due to the stimulation of chilli; therefore he goes to the YI’s beauty centre for facial treatment. There, he meets GIGI again. Without doubts, GIGI is attracted by the richest of BON and pops into the arms of BON immediately. After serious consideration, YUK finally finds the most unaware place for TIN and it is home. TIN is now hidden at the reading room and YUK will bring him soup and meal everyday……

10. Episode 10

When MAN and KIM talk about love, MAN seems to believe in fate; yet, his words give KIM a glimmer of hope. YUK discovers that KIM is working in the centre, she urges YI to fire her immediately. Fortunately, YI tends to keep KIM as her staff; hence, she lies to YUK by saying that KIM has signed a three-year contract with her. YUK has no alternatives but to accept. GIGI has been very considerate and helpful to BON. BON is touched and obsessed to YI deeply. YUK takes a nap in her office at the centre, whilst KIM is doing the air-con clean up. KIM discovers a dead body of a rat and throws it away with scare. It falls on the chest of YUK accidentally and faints her horribly. Everyone helps to move YUK to rest on the sofa; meanwhile, GIGI hurts her backbone. Because of hatred, YI takes the chance to smash YUK with the excuse of waking her up. When YUK comes out from coma, she scolds KIM severely……

11. Episode 11

When MAN awakes, he is so regret for making love with KIM. On the other hand, GIGI nearly falls down due to the slippery floor in the market. Though she is able to avoid the falling, her accurately movement catches the sight of YUK, who is shopping in the market at the same time. MAN is reluctant to go home for dinner and fails the heart of KIM also. Meanwhile, SANG investigates her relationship with MAN again, KIM feels more depressed. Due to the deep sense of guilty, MAN shares his grief to his friend, WOOD. WOOD offers no help but spiritual support only. YUK gathers the evidence on GIGI and intends to sack and sue KIM and GIGI for cheating the company. Therefore, GIGI seeks for the assistance of BON and has him beg for YUK’s leniency; meanwhile, KIM also has the help of MAN. With respect to MAN, YUK agrees to forgive KIM and GIGI if they apologise. KIM admits her fault, whilst GIGI refuses to knee down for forgiveness……

MAN concentrates himself by working hard for his investment, whilst KIM focuses on learning better English and making profit on her desert business. Once day, because of the flu, KIM faints in the street and fails to arrive home on time. MAN waits for her desperately with worries. KIM comes back at last and is taken care by MAN gently. MAN finds himself has fallen in love with KIM lately. MAN suffers a great loss in his investment deal; he resigns his job with guilt and hides himself. KIM determines to develop her desert business, so that MAN can rely on her when he comes back. On the other hand, GIGI is pregnant with BON’s baby. Therefore, BON decides to divorce with YI and marries GIGI. YI refuses to divorce and starts a quarrel at home. YUK feels dilemma but afraid to discuss with TIN. The relationship between BON and GIGI grows more intimately and causes the jealousy of others, especially, YI……

13. Episode 13

Aired: 9/26/2001

GIGI loses her baby in the accident. BON is so angry and tends to reckon the account with YI. GIGI also decides to take legal action against YI for her loss. YUK would like to settle the appeal with GIGI in private, whilst her offer is misunderstand by KIM. KIM feels insult by YUK for using money to pay off the loss of GIGI. KIM pays no interest to the offer from YUK and scolds her away. In fact, KIM does not aware that GIGI is so anxious to have the compensation. BON tends to move out from TIN’s house and lives with GIGI. However, GIGI has a different opinion. YUK offers Two Hundred Thousand Dollars to GIGI for leaving BON with a condition that she must sign for the deal. The amount is so attractive that GIGI has no objection towards the offer from YUK. She takes the money then signs the agreement. Of course, she chooses to abandon BON in return. YUK presents the agreement to BON……

Doctor advises YUK to have body check because YUK looks pale. Hence, BON and CHUNG arrange YI to take care of YUK, on the other hand, YI can spy on YUK daily. SANG discovers a sculpture of a man’s head, he suspects KIM has murdered her husband. WOOD loses in his stock investment; therefore he cheats RAINBOW to lend him the capital of the desert & snack shop. Though he succeeds in getting the money, he also uses them quickly. When RAINBOW reckons the account with him, he spends all the money already. The money is gone but KIM does not give up. She determines to open the desert & snack shop and build up the business for MAN. Everyone is moved and amazed by the passion and courage of KIM. But it is a tough task especially without enough capital. KIM has no money to buy the stove, therefore, she has to make the desert at home and bring them to the shop. However, the result is disappointed……

15. Episode 15

Aired: 9/28/2001

Because of carelessness, KIM pushes YUK to the ground by accident. Hence, CHUNG discovers that KIM always brings bad luck to YUK. In fact, the health condition of YUK goes bad due to the pressure of work. TIN feels upset and worries about YUK, he wants YUK to relax and put aside the business of ‘May Chun Chuen’; however, he is unable to express. CHUNG meets GIGI at the bank by chance and informs BON immediately. BON finds GIGI at last. CHUNG thinks out a plan and seeks for the assistance of GIGI. He borrows ten hundred thousand dollars from GIGI for the plot. As he notices that KIM will bring bad luck to YUK, he intends to flirt KIM and irritate YUK. Afterwards, they can inherit the money from TIN directly. GIGI meets RAINBOW and WOOD in a motel and makes them very embarrass. Meanwhile, CHUNG begins his plan and starts flirting KIM……

16. Episode 16

Aired: 10/1/2001

CHUNG shows great tenderness to KIM’s family members. Time passes and happy days are usually limited; their tourist visas are going to expire. Before departure, KIM’s mother whispers gently to KIM and asks her to cherish CHUNG. CHUNG is sick and has an excuse to ask KIM to stay at his house to take care of him. KIM agrees then. Unexpectedly, YUK appoints KIM to be the housekeeper. In fact, she wants to find faults on KIM and drives her away easily. In the game of power struggle, FA and YUK allies together and become companions; whilst CHUNG and others are heading towards their goal with cheek. One evening, KIM forgets to ask the servant to prepare the dinner. She demonstrates her tradition cooking style and makes the Malaysian fried rice. But she gains no credit from YUK. Because of the leakage of gas, KIM is late to go home and is forbidden to enter the house of TIN according to the family regulation……

17. Episode 17

Aired: 10/2/2001

The ex-wife of CHUNG, ANNA suffers mental illness. CHUNG intentionally sends ANNA to KIM’s desert shop and brings her disorder. Furthermore, he claims that it is the carelessness of YUK for not buying the horse racing game ticket for ANNA that stimulates her mental disorder. Hence, KIM reckons the account on YUK. In the mental hospital, YI pretends ANNA and is injected the sedative by accident. YUK strongly denies the responsibility for the loss of KIM and brings the case to the police for further investigation. In such circumstances, CHUNG scares to be discovered and would like to settle the case quietly. In respect of CHUNG, KIM agrees to forgive YUK and discharge the case. Meanwhile, MAN finds a meaningful life by working as a farmer. He abandons the materialistic lifestyle and enjoys his life at the countryside. Everyone thinks that he is giving up himself but KIM understands MAN more than anyone else……

18. Episode 18

The blood pressure of YUK has gone up due to her quarrel with KIM. KIM feels sorry for YUK and intends to take care of her as compensation. But YUK refuses her kindness offer coldly. The elderly problem of FA becomes more serious each day and has caused a lot of embarrassment for YUK. One day, MAN visits YUK and explains his relationship with KIM. He apologises for the misunderstandings that aroused; moreover, he also admits that the marriage between he and KIM is a fake in order to enable KIM to stay in Hong Kong. His explanation has wiped away the bias of YUK towards KIM and also changed the impression too. KIM accidentally discovers the secret tunnel to the reading room and finds TIN. Therefore, YUK decides to tell her the truth and hopes to have her understanding and support. The barrier between them is broken now. Furthermore, KIM encourages TIN not to hide up and share the family life once again……

19. Episode 19

TIN discovers from the reflection of the window that CHUNG tries to poison YUK by exchanging her medicine. He is so anxious to inform YUK and asks her to throw away the pills but he is not success with the arrival of FA. YUK invites KIM to work at the condiment shop; nevertheless, she also invites MAN to help. After seeking the advice from CHUNG, KIM agrees to help in the condiment shop. On the other hand, CHUNG initiates another step of his plan. He changes the medical equipment of YUK, which makes YUK unable to measure her blood pressure. Therefore, YUK never has a chance to recognise her illness and cannot estimate her health condition. KIM urges MAN to arrange divorce. MAN feels bitter and upset. One day, YUK and KIM are planting in the garden, whilst TIN discovers a sign of stroke may happen to YUK. However, KIM has no knowledge to it and cannot aware the seriousness……

20. Episode 20

CHUNG and others conspire together and drive away KIM dramatically. But KIM still has a slightly attachment in CHUNG. RAINBOW decides to report to the police for the conspiracies of GIGI, she gives a testimony about GIGI and BON who have made use of KIM to execute their plan. Meanwhile, MAN also hires legal consultant to help KIM in the charge. KIM finds CHUNG for negotiation at the condiment shop. However, she feels more disappointed, when CHUNG turns against her. KIM finally understands the reality and the truth. In the court, all evidences are against KIM and she is unlikely to win the case. On the trial day, TIN appears suddenly. He proves that CHUNG and BON are the real player of the conspiracy. The two of them are arrested and sentenced to jail. TIN adopts KIM as his daughter and would like KIM and MAN to manage the condiment shop for him……
