On his way to a destination, Au Yeung Lung Tin discovers Ngai Kin using evil fung shui magic to do evil. Tin spoils Kin's evil plan and contracts enmity from Kin. In order to retaliate upon Tin, Kin later has a fight with Tin. Beaten by Tin, Kin kills himself in shame. Deeply impressed by Kin's death, Kin's son, Ngai Tin Kei, swears to avenge his father's death some day. . Twenty years later, Yau Chi Chai, a wine-maker, with all his wealth looted by warlords, is forced to flee to Kung Ming Town in the south to seek refuge with a distant relative, Lau Pok Hok. A swindler, KA Ying Ming, with only a bit knowledge of Fung shui, cheats people out of their money whenever he goes. After arriving in Kung Ming Town, he wins Hok's deep trust by grasping Hok's psychology. In order to win Man's trust, Ming attempts to deceive Man into believing his tricks. His tricks are, however, seen through and spoiled by a part-time fung shui adviser, Ling Choi Kau. Knowing that Ming is a swindler, Man tells Pok the fact. But Pok does not believe in his words. Chor Kau foretells that after the moon has risen next night, Sai Man's forehead must be injured once he sees a woman. Ying Ming acts in accordance with Hok's orders to spoil the Fung Shui of Hung Family. Unfortunately, owing to his limited skills in Fung Shui, he spoils Lau Family's fung shui. This causes both Sai Man and Sin Mo to fail in the imperial examination. Greatly disappointed by Man's failure in the imperial examination, Hok forces Man to give up his studies and engage in business so that Man may inherit his wine-making business in the future. Hok happens to be holding a grand ceremony of freeing captive organisms for accumulating future blessings when Chi Chai arrives in Kung Ming Town with tens of members of Yau Family. The business of the wine-making factory deteriorates rapidly. However, Hok ascribes this to bad Fung Shui and then asks Ying Ming for solutions. Kai Chai Ming of Yau Family frequents brothel and finally gets into trouble. Learning of this affair, Hok is furious. He gives Chai a warning and urges him to impose tighten discipline on his family. Having a strong desire for learning, Suet Ying appreciates Man’s profound and wide learning. They are congenial to each other. Ying has gradually developed a strong admiration for Man. Fascinated by Mei Kiu's beauty, Ying Ming designs a trick to make Kiu unconscious and attempts to rape her. However, Kai Chai Ming sees through and spoils his trick. After moving out of Kung Ming Town, Yau Family has a hard time owing to lack of food. Suet Ying runs a risk and steals a fowl from a nearby village. Kau discovers this and insults her badly; Ying's feelings are greatly hurt. Afterwards Kau comes to know that Ying steals the fowl for the sake of Kau family. Moved by this he decides to give Ying a fowl. When taking the fowl to Ying's place, Kau by mistake gets into a toilet and Ying happens to be there. Being mistaken by Yau family for a lustful rogue, Kau is beaten by Yau family. Knowing that what Kau comes for, Ying clears up the misunder?standing for him. Man misunderstands that it was an intentional act by Ying to take revenge. Sorry to see that Ying is sad all day because of love troubles, Kau offers to explain to Man for her. Man, however, insists that Ying intentionally plays tricks on Hok and refuses to bury the hatchet with her. This makes Ying very sad. Ying consoles herself with drink. When she is half-drunk, she almost sets the wine-making factory on fire. Fortunately, Kau rushes to the factory and helps her to put the fire out. Comforted by Kau, Ying is somewhat relieved. Having found the place where Mo and Hung hide themselves, Yu and Hok go there and take them home. Later, Yu and Hok show under?standing and sympathy for them and agree to their marriage.

Tin Kei attempts to kill Long Tin in order to avenge his father's death. Being no match for Tin Kei is wounded and later rescued by Ying. Kei vilifies Tin before Ying. Believing in Kei's words, Ying misunderstands Tin. Later, she comes to know that Kei's father had been using magic arts to do evil, kill many common people and cause much suffering. Ying tells Kei this fact, hoping to dispel the misunderstandings between Kei and Tin. But Kei does not listen to her and insists on killing Tin when chances come. Kei chases after Tin in order to kill him, but is stopped by Kau. Kei and Kau start a fight.
