Anis Don Demina

Anis Don Demina, born Anis Don Dhahir on April 25, 1993, in Sundsvall, is a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician, DJ, rapper, and YouTuber. He grew up in Jordbro with his mother, Marina, from Belarus, and his father, Razak, from Iraq. He was also known by the nickname Anas Salami (Warsame) during his high school years. Anis began performing as a rapper at the age of 14 under the name "Sajjk" and participated in freestyle battles in forums such as Ozone and Basementality. At 18, his career as a DJ and music producer took off, and he worked in clubs such as Movida in Dubai and Cirque Le Soir in London, where he also lived. He later taught DJing to various personalities including Samir Badran, Lance Hedman Graaf, and Ida Warg. In August 2017, Anis signed a record deal with Warner Music Group and performed at the Peace & Love festival in Borlänge in 2018. He participated in Melodifestivalen 2018, playing saxophone for Samir & Viktor's song "Shuffla" and contributed to their song "Put Your Hands Up för Sverige" for the 2018 World Cup. Anis has also released his own songs, such as "On My Mind," "Wasted" with Mad Kings, and "Sucker For Love." In May 2018, "Wasted" charted at number 33 on the Swedish top list, and in November 2019, he received two gold records for both "Wasted" and "Sucker For Love." In February 2019, he released the song "Utanför" with Elias Abbas, followed by "För stora för den här stan" with Mapei in May 2019. Later that year, he dropped his first EP, "ANIS," along with the song "Bryr mig inte," and in October, he released the track "Postcard" with Eric Saade. Anis participated in Melodifestivalen 2019, alongside Zeana, with the song "Mina bränder." In 2020, he returned as a solo artist with the song "Vem e som oss," which progressed to the Second Chance round and eventually reached the final, placing fifth. In film and TV, Anis voiced one of the hyenas in the Swedish version of the animated film The Lion King (2019) and appeared in the 19th season of Fångarna på fortet in August 2019. In 2021, he co-hosted the second semifinal of Melodifestivalen with Oscar Zia and participated in the sixteenth season of Let's Dance. He also played a role as a music producer in the Swedish comedy film Snälla kriminella (2021), appeared as a panelist in the seventeenth season of Idol, and co-hosted Musikhjälpen with Oscar Zia and Brita Zackari. Anis appeared as a guest in season five of Bäst i Test and joined the regular panel in season six. In 2023, he hosted the TV show Underdogs on SVT and participated in Detektiverna in 2024. In radio, Anis became the new host of NRJ Morgon in 2023, where he works alongside Sofia Wistam and Sebastian "Basse" Widman. Anis has been running a YouTube channel since 2011, where he posts vlogs, music videos, reaction videos, and interviews with Swedish YouTubers and rappers. A viral video in 2017, where he criticized YouTuber Joakim Lundell, gained him 110,000 subscribers in just a few weeks. By March 2020, his channel surpassed 400,000 subscribers, and by August 2024, he had over 590,000. According to the Medieakademin's Power Barometer 2023, his channel ranks as the 14th most influential on YouTube.
